Find the right solution for your project. There are many factors to consider when choosing the right support for design panels:
Weight, stability, fire protection and sustainability are just some of the aspects that need to be considered. To ensure that you always get the best carrier for your projects, SIBU DESIGN offers a wide range of substrate materials. In this article, we present the different carrier options in detail.
Polystyrene: virgin and recycled:
Polystyrene (PS) is a proven substrate for SIBU DESIGN panels, offering the option of either completely new polystyrene products or those with a recycled content. Recycled polystyrene is a more sustainable choice without compromising on quality or strength. The majority of our products use a specially developed SIBU DESIGN High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) grade as the base material.
The benefits of virgin material::
• High purity and smooth surfaces.
The advantage of recycled material::
• Saves resources and is sustainable.
ANTIGRAV: Lightweight for creative applications
The ANTIGRAV substrate is a PP-glass fibre blend that is dimensionally stable and lightweight, making it ideal for applications where low weight is required. ANTIGRAV is suitable for a wide range of projects and makes installation easier, especially for larger panel sizes or ceiling installations.
Advantages:
Natural substrate: Wood fibre in 1mm and 3mm (LUXEWALL Panel Collection)
SIBU DESIGN offers an environmentally friendly alternative for those who value natural materials. Wood fibre substrates, such as those used in the LUXEWALL panel collection, are particularly suitable for interiors where sustainability is a priority.
Advantages:
HDF/MDF: Fibreboard for versatile projects
High Density Fibreboard (HDF) and Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) are high-density wood fibre boards that offer strength and dimensional stability. They are the perfect choice for projects that require an extra strong and durable substrate.
Also available in flame retardant and moisture resistant versions.
Benefits:
HPVC: Flame retardant and lightweight option:
HPVC (High Performance PVC) is available in a flame-retardant version – ideal for public buildings and areas with increased fire safety requirements. HPVC is also available in a lighter version, making it easier to transport and install.
Flame retardant advantage:
Lightweight advantage:
