FSC® stands for the “Forest Stewardship Council,” an international organization dedicated to sustainable forest management. The certification ensures that products containing wood – such as furniture, paper, or packaging – come from responsibly managed forests and comply with social and environmental standards.
Why It Matters?
FSC® protects forests by ensuring that no more wood is harvested than can naturally regenerate. The certification also guarantees fair working conditions and respects the rights of indigenous peoples. In doing so, it safeguards both the environment and the livelihoods of local communities.
